Hikes from Emosson
From a gentle walk along the dam (25 minutes) to an ambitious alpine hike lasting several hours, the Emosson site is the perfect starting point to explore the mountains at your own pace.
- Fancy a journey back in time? Follow in the footsteps of dinosaurs (archosaurs) and reach the famous footprint site on a hike of around 5 hours.
- Prefer to earn a break on a sunny terrace? Take the 3-hour loop leading to the Cabane du Vieux-Emosson.
- Tempted by a cross-border adventure? Hike the trail that crosses the Franco-Swiss border and connects Emosson to the Loriaz Refuge in about 2 hours.
- Looking for a family-friendly walk? Walk down from Emosson to Les Montuires and reach a playground in just 30 minutes.
- For the more sporty, the routes via the Barberine Pass (5 hours) or the Fenestral Pass (7 hours) offer stunning alpine crossings.
