Early Departure at 08:35

Good news for early birds! This season, the first ascent to Emosson starts at 08:35, arriving at 09:15. Perfect for setting off on a hike or simply enjoying the peaceful and fresh morning air.

Two Brand-New Locomotives for the Panoramic Train

The iconic panoramic train has been upgraded with two brand-new locomotives. They ensure a spectacular ride along the mountainside, across ravines and through hand-dug tunnels from the 1920s — with breathtaking views of Mont Blanc!

Châtelard Village Station Relocated

Getting to VerticAlp Emosson is now even easier! On the Mont-Blanc Express line, the Châtelard Village station has been relocated — it's now just a one-minute walk from the funicular departure point.

100 Years of the Barberine Dam – Anniversary Exhibition

At the CFF power station in Le Châtelard, right next to the funicular departure, an exhibition celebrates the 100th anniversary of the Barberine Dam. Now submerged under Lake Emosson, the dam was built in 1925 to power the electrification of the Swiss Federal Railways.

Treasure Hunt for Kids

A fun and educational adventure for young visitors! The treasure hunt between Emosson Dam and Les Montuires (upper funicular station) teaches children about the Barberine Dam — the first in the Trient Valley — and explains how hydroelectric power turns a single drop of water into electricity to run SBB trains.

The ticket "rando" includes the descent on foot from Emosson to the upper station of the funicular and lets you enjoy the full experience.
